ABOUT

The Journey

The roots for Houston Industries go back to the late 1990's in the central valley in California. The founder met who would later become his future business partner and several future employees at Kraft Foods while training as an instrumentation and controls technician. From 2000 through 2006 Eric gained experience supporting cereal and Kool-Aid manufacturing at Kraft, compact disc manufacturing at AmericDisc, and metal forming and treating at NI Industries, a defense contractor. Houston Controls was the first company created that would become an electrical and controls contractor servicing local businesses. When a partnership was formed in 2012 with a colleague, this would be the catalyst to grow the company to  35 persons and work in a variety of fields that would include substation maintenance, robotics installation, PLC and SCADA design build, and mechanical design build. In 2021 Houston Industries was formed as a means to carry on the work that started 25 years earlier after a divestiture from the partnership. The focus has narrowed to now include three main business avenues:

  • Instrument calibration and repair

  • UL 508A Custom Panel Design/Build

  • Packaging Machine Retrofits

A common character of excellence and innovation is pursued through these areas of work with collaboration being a key source of joy and success.

"I am interested in working with customers and team members who strive for excellence and enjoy collaborative efforts towards the best possible solution. It's hard work to be patient and consider all constraints while prioritizing decision making during technical projects. It's during these projects that I find the most joy and see the most growth in people."
